You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl. Though I’ve traveled the world and have lived in several different countries, I always find myself returning to Austin. I’m not sure how many generations of Texas Holdens there are, but we’ve been around for quite awhile. To put it another way, my husband’s brother said — on my wedding day on the shores of beautiful Ladybird Lake — “Well…I always wanted to be a cowboy. I guess marrying my little brother into a family of cowboys is close enough.”
